i am familiar with asmx web service which use soap protocol to transfer data. when web api comes then i saw people started saying a common word that web api is REST which is not clear to me.
1) anyone can guide me how to explain rest in interview with easy example ?
2) people also say:- Web API is a framework which makes it easy to build HTTP services that reach a huge range of clients, including any type of browsers and mobile devices
when we develop web service with asmx soap then mobile can not use or call asmx web service ? if mobile device can not access asmx soap based web service then tell me those reason which create problem to access asmx soap based web service from mobile.
asmx soap based web service transfer data in xml format and xml is platform independent so mobile device should understand asmx soap based web service then why people say only mobile device can understand web api communication........is it at all true ?
